Data Security
How does mybalancingIQ protect financial data?
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication, and continuous monitoring. Data is hosted on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with redundancy and automated threat detection.
Does mybalancingIQ store my accounting software login credentials?
No. Connections are made using OAuth — a secure, token-based authorisation method. We never see or store your QuickBooks, Xero, or other accounting platform passwords. You can revoke access at any time.
Who owns the data?
You do. Your clients' financial data belongs to them at all times. mybalancingIQ acts as a data processor only. We do not claim ownership of any data you connect to the platform.
Where is data hosted?
Data is hosted on secure enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with built-in redundancy, monitoring, and resilience. Specific hosting locations are available upon request for institutional due diligence purposes.
Can data be used to train AI models?
No. We do not use your identifiable client data or your own business data to train AI models that serve other customers. We may use anonymised, aggregated statistical patterns (not linked to any individual) to improve our models over time.
Is data shared with third parties?
Only with service providers essential to operating the platform (hosting, authentication, logging), and only under strict confidentiality obligations. We never sell data.
What happens if I disconnect my client's account?
Access to that client's connected data is removed immediately. Data is deleted within 30 days of account closure or disconnection request, with backup copies deleted within 90 days.
AI Accuracy — Critical Questions
Read This Section
AI accuracy is the most important topic for professionals recommending or using mybalancingIQ in a client context.
How accurate is the AI analysis?
AI analysis is designed to be helpful and directionally useful, but it cannot be guaranteed to be accurate in all cases. Large language models and machine learning systems can produce outputs that are incorrect, incomplete, misleading, or based on incorrect assumptions. The accuracy of outputs also depends heavily on the quality and completeness of the source accounting data. Always verify key insights against source records before acting on them or presenting them to others.
Is the Business Health Score a certified financial rating?
No. The Business Health Score is an algorithmic estimate based on available financial data. It is NOT a certified financial rating, credit score, or formal financial assessment. It should not be presented or relied upon as such. It is a decision-support indicator designed to prompt further investigation and professional conversation.
Can I submit mybalancingIQ reports to banks or investors?
mybalancingIQ outputs may be useful as supplementary management information or discussion documents. They should NOT be submitted as independently verified financial statements. For formal lending or investment applications, professionally prepared accounts and independent valuations remain the appropriate standard.
Is the Competitor Analysis reliable?
Competitor analysis is generated by AI using publicly available data and inference. It may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. It should be treated as indicative only and verified against independent research before use in strategic decisions.
Can Invara (the AI advisor) give professional advice?
No. Invara is a conversational AI assistant — it is not a financial adviser, accountant, tax adviser, or legal adviser. It can help frame questions, identify patterns, and explain financial concepts, but its responses are generated dynamically and may contain errors. Invara responses should never be presented to third parties as professional advice.
What should I tell my clients about AI accuracy?
Recommend clients use mybalancingIQ as a tool for self-awareness, conversation preparation, and trend monitoring — not as a substitute for professional advice. The platform is most valuable when used alongside, not instead of, their relationship with you.
Professional Liability
Is mybalancingIQ a replacement for my professional services?
Absolutely not. mybalancingIQ is designed to support and enhance professional relationships, not replace them. The platform helps clients understand their own data better — making your advisory conversations more informed and efficient.
Does using mybalancingIQ affect my professional obligations?
No. Your professional obligations, ethical duties, and regulatory requirements remain entirely independent of any tool you recommend or use. Recommending a technology tool to clients does not transfer or reduce your professional responsibilities.
What is mybalancingIQ's liability if AI outputs are wrong?
mybalancingIQ's liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Service — in particular, our aggregate liability is capped and we are not liable for consequential damages arising from reliance on AI outputs. This is why independent professional verification of outputs is essential before any significant action is taken.
How do I contact you with security or accuracy concerns?
